Natural Design

This week is my dad's birthday and if there is anything my dad taught me in life, it's how to appreciate nature. Being the biologist he is, I grew up with a huge respect and love for the outdoors. I think because of his influence, it's no surprise that I pull so much of my inspiration for interiors from that. Here are a few ways I'm drawn to natural elements for major design moments.

Blue & Green

Blue like the sky and green like the plants, these are my favorite colors to decorate with.

Botanical Prints

I love working with organic patterns in a home. It really pulls the outdoors in and adds such a beautiful, natural feeling to any space.

Natural Fiber Rugs

My FAVORITE. I love, love, love natural fiber rugs and am always incorporating them in rooms. They give a relaxed feel and add instant texture.

Wood

A natural material that we use regularly. I especially love teak and cedar for their look and texture.

Greenery

A room doesn't feel complete without a touch (or a lot) of greenery throughout it.

Rattan

A forever favorite that's not just for the islands.
